Best Robot Lawn Mowers UK 2026
Never mow again - or at least, that's the promise. We've compared robot mowers from Husqvarna, Mammotion and Worx against specs and verified owner reviews to find out which ones actually deliver.
Wire-free vs perimeter wire - the big decision
Traditional robot mowers need a buried perimeter wire to define your lawn edges. It works, but installation takes a day and the wire breaks if you aerate. Wire-free models use cameras or RTK GPS instead - no installation, no buried cable, and you can move them between lawns. In 2026, wire-free is where the market's heading.
Three robot mowers we recommend
1. Husqvarna Automower 305 (£799)
The most reliable robot mower on the market. Husqvarna invented the category in 1995 and the 305 is their entry-level model for lawns up to 600 m². Perimeter wire required, but the cutting quality and app control are excellent. Read our Husqvarna 305 review Check price →.
2. Mammotion Luba 2 AWD 1000 (£1,399)
The best wire-free robot mower available. RTK GPS navigation, all-wheel drive for slopes up to 38°, and handles lawns up to 1,000 m² with multiple zones. Setup takes 20 minutes with a phone app instead of a day burying wire. Read our Mammotion Luba review Check price →.
3. Worx Landroid Vision M800 (£999)
Worx's camera-based wire-free mower for lawns up to 800 m². The AI vision system handles obstacles well and the modular design lets you add GPS, voice control or off-road wheels later. Read our Worx Vision review Check price →.
What about security?
Robot mowers get stolen. The good ones have PIN codes, alarm systems, GPS tracking and lift sensors that trigger an alert. Husqvarna and Mammotion both offer GPS tracking as standard. Always register your mower's serial number and check your home insurance covers garden equipment.
