What we do
The Best Mowers is a UK lawn mower resource focused on cutting through the noise. There are hundreds of mowers on sale and most "best of" lists are thin and interchangeable. Our job is to do the legwork: read the spec sheets, dig through verified owner reviews, track UK pricing, and turn it into clear, honest advice on the mower that actually suits your garden and budget.
How we research and choose
We are a research-led publication, not a test lab, and we are straight about that. Our recommendations are built from three sources, cross-checked against each other:
- Manufacturer specifications for the hard numbers: voltage, cutting width, battery capacity, claimed runtime, weight and deck material.
- Verified owner reviews on Amazon UK and retailer sites, where the real-world picture shows up: battery fade, build niggles, how a mower copes with damp British grass.
- UK retail and pricing data, so the price bands and value calls reflect what you will actually pay, not an RRP nobody charges.
Where a figure is a manufacturer claim rather than an independent measurement, we say so. Runtime in particular depends on grass length, dampness and cut height, so we describe it as a coverage estimate, not a guarantee. We update picks when models are discontinued or superseded.
