What owners praise

  • Ergoflex handles - not a gimmick. The angled, padded grips genuinely reduce wrist fatigue during a 30-minute mow. Noticeable difference vs standard straight handles.
  • Power for All battery - slots into your Bosch drill, hedge trimmer, blower. One charger, one battery family, done.
  • Quiet operation - rated around 75 dB. Weekend morning mowing without waking the street.
  • Solid build quality - owner reviews report no rattles, no loose parts and a deck that stays true. Bosch engineering holds up.

The drawbacks

  • No mulching option - unlike its successor (UniversalRotak), no mulching plug is available. Collect or leave clippings, no middle ground.
  • 40L grass box - adequate but not generous. On a 350 m² lawn, expect two empties per mow.
  • Now superseded - spare parts and accessories will gradually become harder to find as Bosch pushes the UniversalRotak range.
  • No rear roller - flat-wheel arrangement gives mild directional marks, not proper stripes.

How it compares

The direct successor is the Bosch UniversalRotak 36-550 at £329 - bigger grass box (50L), mulching plug included, slightly refined ergonomics. The Gtech CLM 2.0 at £249 is lighter with a roomy 50L box, but has a proprietary battery and no defined stripes (rear comb, not roller). If you can find remaining Rotak 37 LI stock under £230, it's excellent value.

Who should buy it

Buyers who find remaining stock at a discount (under £230) and want proven Bosch build quality with Power for All battery sharing. Medium-lawn owners (250-400 m²) who value ergonomics and quiet operation. Anyone already owning Bosch 36V batteries from other tools.

Don't buy it at full RRP - the UniversalRotak 36-550 is better in every measurable way for £50 more. Don't buy it if you want mulching capability or defined lawn stripes.

Frequently asked questions

Is the Bosch Rotak 37 LI still available in 2026?+
The Rotak 37 LI has been superseded by the UniversalRotak 36-550 in Bosch's current lineup. However, remaining stock is still available from some retailers at discounted prices. The newer model uses the same Power for All battery system.
What battery does the Bosch Rotak 37 LI use?+
A 36V 2.0 Ah or 4.0 Ah lithium-ion battery from the Bosch Power for All Alliance range. The same battery works across Bosch garden and DIY tools.
How big a lawn can the Rotak 37 LI handle?+
With the 4.0 Ah battery, you'll get around 35-40 minutes of runtime - enough for 300-400 m² of typical UK lawn. With the smaller 2.0 Ah pack, expect 15-20 minutes (150-200 m²).
Does the Rotak 37 LI have a rear roller for stripes?+
No - it uses a standard wheel arrangement without a rear roller. You'll get mild directional lines but not defined cricket-pitch stripes. For stripes from Bosch, you'd need the CityMower or AdvancedRotak models with integrated combs.
Bosch Rotak 37 LI vs UniversalRotak 36-550?+
The UniversalRotak 36-550 is the direct successor - same cutting width, same battery platform, slightly larger grass box (50L vs 40L), improved ergonomics, and a mulching plug included. If buying new, get the UniversalRotak. The Rotak 37 LI is only worth considering if you find remaining stock at a significant discount.
